Avandia Search Engine Launched
With the receint news about the diabetes drug, Avandia, from Galxo, we decided to see how quickly we could register a new domain, build a search engine, and populate it with some initial content. It turns out it doesn't take too long and we were able to get the basic site launched over the Memorial Day weekend. (Hey, you spend your holiday the way you want to....!)
At this time the format is the same as the two other vertical search engines we have created, but we expect to add some other features over time.
One interesting note that I find disturbing, and that is we added a link at Wikipedia
under each of the three topics only to find later that our links were removed and we were accused of being spammers! They allow anyone to access and edit their site, then when they don't like it they call us names? Furthermore, since we have donated money to them in the past and since our listings are unique resources, I don't think this is in keeping with how Wikipedia presents itself to the world. Is Wikipedia turning into another DMOZ/ODP? Will Wikipedia collapse under it's own weight?
